Today, we’re going to fix BAD kpop thumbnails. Over time, I’ve come to realize that sometimes KPOP music videos have the most random screenshots with logos placed over them. From BLACKPINK to Ateez to BTS to Itzy, it seems there are some good and bad. In a previous video, I had complained about JYP thumbnails being bad and a few people suggested that I fix them, so I went with the idea and came up with this lovely video.
I’m not a professional, nor do I claim to be, but in light of that I thought it would be interesting to have you guys choose which thumbnails you prefer; mine or the company’s. Kind of like a fun Kpop game, so if you were part of the premiere, you can do it in real time, otherwise, you can just comment below. It’s usually quite simple anyways, take a screen shot, maybe re-size it and place your logo over it. For example, BLACKPINK’s thumbnail for lovesick girls. I love the colour and the overall story but the fact that they are doing a dance move and the border above and below the photo really throw me off.
Or even when it’s not a random screenshot, such as Ateez’s thumbnail for Thanxx, I think we as viewers can lose a lot of the detail and I don’t think that dark image really represents the brightness within the music video. There are a surprising amount of KPOP thumbnails that I see and think “What were they thinking?” I mean, the thumbnail for TXT’s Blue Hour? Seems like it was auto-generated by YouTube’s thumbnail system. But I did an experiment…it sadly wasn’t. I also decided to keep in the thumbnails that I made myself and found were also bad. So if you like this idea, please let me know and we can part 2 and 3! Feel free to also suggest some thumbnails that you think are bad.
